In lieu of class, I’m asking that you spend the equivalent of a class period finding out what you can about Václav Havel. Who was he, why was he important, and what was the historical setting of his life and work?
Also, I made an error (affecting the second and third days; I was off by one section) in section divisions for Havel’s “The Power of the Powerless” on the course Google calendar, which I’ve since corrected. The correct divisions for the days we’ll spend on Havel’s essay are:
